The iPod 5th Generation, with 60% brighter screen, was introduced in late 2006. Just like the first version of the iPod G5 series, this unit has a street name of "video" iPod and is available in white or black. These video iPod's came in two different batch types - original and 60% brighter. The 60% brighter batch was relased with a 30GB and 80GB hard drive and a U2 Edition with 30GB hard drive. The iPod 5th Generation is the first iPod to come with video playback and to be offered in white and black. This unit has a street name of "video" iPod. These iPod's came in two different release types. One is the original video range of iPods and the other is "late 2006" range which was built with a 60% brighter screen. The first "video" batch was released with a 30GB and 60GB hard drive, a U2 Edition with 30GB harddrive and a Harry Potter Edition with 30GB hard drive. Released: 2005.

The iPod 4th Generation is the first iPod to come with a color screen. This unit has a street name of iPod "photo". These iPod's came in two different batches and two special editions.
